Nominations are now closed. Those who have been nominated must submit their application by Sept 30th.

Once a student is nominated they will receive an email to complete an online application. Please DO NOT use a student’s school email, the application will be blocked and they will never receive the email that they have been nominated. Additionally, the nominator, student, and parent/guardian all get automatic applicable notification emails as nominations and applications are submitted.

IF A STUDENT WAS NOMINATED AND DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL, PLEASE REACH OUT TO INFO@FANNING.UGA.EDU IMMEDIATELY. APPLICATION DEADLINES WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.

Recruitment Criteria:

• Rising 10th and 11th grade students with leadership potential
• School attendance records indicate academic commitment
• Demonstrates motivation through personal behavior, desire and determination
• Interest or desire to learn about leadership
• Willingness to engage in new and different experiences

There is no cost for student participants. Meals, transportation for tours and program activities, and program materials are available through generous donations from Chick-fil-A.  Students will be required to arrange transportation to the sessions.

Those selected for the 2026 Youth LEAD Georgia class will be expected to attend all sessions, which are scheduled for the following dates:

• Jan. 24 – 26, 2026
• Mar. 15 – 16, 2026
• June 2 – 5, 2026 – Bus Tour
• Sept. 13 – 14, 2026

• Nov. 8 – 9, 2026

In addition, Youth LEAD Georgia participants will be invited to participate in the youth leadership summit at UGA on July 16 – 17, 2026.
